Where does the coordinate data come from?

Subway/train station coordinates come from Wikidata SPARQL (P31:Q928830 with Korea filter, CC0 license). Korean administrative divisions are taken from government standard data and cross-checked against Wikidata.

Why are the coordinates of the same city slightly different from other sites?

For administrative divisions we use the official government office (시청, 구청) location, not the geographic centroid. This matches how Korean government data is published and avoids drift across years.

How do I find the nearest place to my location?

Accepted Answer

Use the "Current Location" tool (/my-location) to get your GPS coordinates, then open any place page — the "Nearby Places" section ranks the closest 6 by Haversine great-circle distance.

Are KATEC and UTM-K coordinates shown for every place?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every individual place page shows WGS84 (decimal degrees), DMS (degrees-minutes-seconds), UTM-K (EPSG:5179), and KATEC (EPSG:5181) — all four formats with one-click copy.

Can I use this data for my own project?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The coordinate values are derived from public sources (Wikidata CC0, government open data). Linking back to findlatlng.org is appreciated but not required.
